#2 - Simple, just turn off the "Automatic Updates" service. That's how I get around it.

I agree with #1. The other thing I can never figure out is why does it take so friggin long to install an update to Messenger? I'm starting to wonder what they are doing other than installing simple software.

Wait until you get to Windows 7.. whole new set of BS to deal with there.

so much for family get-togethers this year, that all sounds pretty autonomous to me already ;-) for the "rebel" part, i'm having a hard time nailing self down on this. need a bigger hammer, i guess.

"somewhats" make sense for those who want to retain freedom to adjust positions to individual situations instead of being nailed down in theory or practice.

i didn't mention that the links to your results had the actual positioning, e.g. 3sc.environics.net/surveys/3sc/tribeOverview.asp?sid=2&tribeID=7&x=2.04&y=-1.88&dat=141303 (that's me).

that "x=...&y=..." business in the querystring is more illuminating than simply having four groups (for us "boomers", at least). as in, _my_ autonomous rebelhood is rather extreme, whereas it sounds like patty's is up towards the intersection of the axes, and craig's is somewhat to the left.

the odd thing to me is that i landed in that position and yet my individual answers were not always extreme themselves; there were a lot of "somewhat"s in there.

i'm reminded of that "moral politics" test i posted: blogs.no-ip.org/.../2336.aspx , and some of the thoughts i had then.
