via @fractalnavel: in the last 24 hours:
  • 2009.07.13 15:24: why are people who (still) work with vb (any flavor) so f*ing clueless ? there are still (unmentionables) who are doing new dev in vb6 !
  • 2009.07.13 15:25: "vb" has become an indicator / synonym for "out of step with everything"
  • 2009.07.13 15:26: not that there's anything intrinsically wrong with the language, ...
  • 2009.07.13 15:27: ... it's just that all those who weren't afflicted with a generalized stone-age attitude moved on to other new things as well
  • 2009.07.13 15:27: but for some reason, those who stuck with vb are also in the dark about pert near everything else in computing as well
  • 2009.07.13 15:28: which is too bad, since it gives a bad name for projects & people that sometimes are required to use that tech.
  • 2009.07.13 15:30: latest vb forum question: "Has anyone had any success with converting VB 2003.net ... to VB 2005.net? "
  • 2009.07.13 15:31: no, not lately. hey, someone get this moron a calendar, will ya ? sheesh.
  • 2009.07.13 15:32: this is the same dipstick that in the past was fairly bragging about using an access db as a back end for asp.net, ...
  • 2009.07.13 15:33: ... and wanted to embed "</form><form>..." inside an asp.net cms to get faux "nested" forms (thus breaking asp.net callbacks)
  • 2009.07.13 15:34: jesus, aren't you fired yet ?!
  • 2009.07.13 15:36: whew. sorry. just been seeing too much of that lately. please, return to your happy monday mornings. [deep breaths, deep breaths...]
  • 2009.07.13 15:42: "not that there's anything wrong with it" - seinfeld echoes
  • 2009.07.13 15:43: isn't vb always followed by that phrase these days ?
  • 2009.07.13 15:43: any choice whose constant companion is an excuse needs examination
  • 2009.07.13 16:44: vb: assuming that any part of the earlier rant is true, then what does that say about products developed with vb vs. c? "avoid like plague"
  • 2009.07.13 23:49: @klaatu
@fractalnavel I still don't think they've ever moved on past VB6 from what I've heard. Damn crappy managers. I pity all those stuck pgmrs
also surprising they're still in business - oh - government, you said. hmm - they really aren't still in business - all motions

latest vb forum question: "Has anyone had any success with converting VB 2003.net ... to VB 2005.net? "
Then throws salt in the wound by outsourcing the vb.net instead of skill advancing their internal team.
but my observations apply to the vb.net crowd as well, though of course not to the extent of vb6 users
