Why stop at 70? RT @Cincienquirer: A new bill will try to raise Ohio's speed limit to 70: http://tr.im/lN6j. What do you think? Too fast?
no such thing as "too fast", although it figures they'd raise limits now, when poor ol' jeep just doesn't have the same legs anymore

Been looking at ASP.net MVC a bit this evening. Looks like routing replaces the need for custom a custom URL rewriting assembly.
mvc: have you seen http://nerddinner.com/ and the free chapter ?
Haven't looked at it, although I've certainly heard of it through blogs. Guess I dove right in and started converting an app.
for shame - design before code, eh ? it's a quick read, and well worth it

@klaatu enjoyed the atheist poster http://bit.ly/BRy7P
oooh, niice - but why do "atheists" seem to focus on christians ? do atheists specialize in reacting to their culture embedding ?
  • 2009.05.19 18:03: then again, the non-christian cultures are also very intolerant. what about largely non-religious regions ? is "atheism" a non-issue there?
  • 2009.05.19 18:08: @craigg75
@fractalnavel it's a day to day thing, if muslims or hindus were as in your face as christians are then sure they'd be the target
atheism = "STFU!", then ? part of it, anyway.
  • 2009.05.19 18:09: reminds me of the smoking debate. i wish everyone would just stfu. also, abortion, drugs, prostitution, ...
  • 2009.05.19 18:10: there's some local morons making a big deal over "four letter words" & kids lately...
  • 2009.05.19 18:13: "Shit, Piss, Fuck, Cunt, CockSucker, MotherFucker, and Tits" - thank you, george !
  • 2009.05.19 18:15: @craigg75
then again, are we missing out on "shared" myths? Joseph Campbell suggests we are missing that as a culture
"shared myths" are inescapable, but the ones we have today aren't nearly so grand as many of the hand-me-downs, true or not
  • 2009.05.19 18:16: @craigg75
the Detroit Lions will win the super bowl.. now there's a modern day shared myth :)
    see? ;-)
  • 2009.05.19 18:19: @craigg75 think of evolutionary social-psychology and co-adaptative neuro-physiology - we're built for "beliefs" and "spirituality"
  • 2009.05.19 18:22: separation of church & state: perhaps that 'myth' has come out of the closet, maybe it's a good thing that we face the reality head-on
  • 2009.05.19 18:48: @craigg75
my annual checkup was yesterday.. doc says my liver ATL levels are high.. oops...now I gotta go back in 2 months (refrain from booze too)
    what's "ATL" ?
  • 2009.05.19 18:58: @craigg75
some enzyme the liver flushes into the bloodstream when it gets f*cked up.. http://snurl.com/icxpn
i may be ATL dependent ... fix the liver, kill the patient ;-)
  • 2009.05.19 18:59: re that atheism poster: nice, but really screwed up "logic". *sigh* i guess i should expect that by now
  • 2009.05.19 19:01: @craigg75
why me? I'm like the cleanest person I know... funny how life goes.. I'm the guy with high blood pressure too
[nancy kerrigan flashback, eh?] genetics, environment, attitude, exercise - over your entire life. "whatever doesn't kill you ..."
  • 2009.05.19 19:02: @craigg75 maybe you needed to have lived a bit dirtier. probably too late to start now :-p
  • 2009.05.19 19:03: @craigg75 why did you even go get checked up ?
  • 2009.05.19 19:30: @craigg75
42mpg by 2016... what a joke.. nobody is serious in this country about getting off oil
the best relationship i've had in life is my 16 yr old, 18mpg jeep. little electric buzz bombs just won't cut it
  • 2009.05.19 19:31: @klaatu
RT @GuyKawasaki: Relocating back to India: the reverse brain drain. http://adjix.com/62pn
yeah, just in time for a little regional nuclear fun
  • 2009.05.19 19:32: @craigg75 but do you feel ok ? "who waants - to liive - forever ?"
  • 2009.05.19 19:43: @craigg75
Geo Carlin use to say we all should swim in filth to build up our immunity.. perhaps I should have lived a less than stellar healthy life?
    then i must be immortal ! :-D
  • 2009.05.19 19:44: @craigg75
I feel fine.. I exercise, get 8 hours of sleep, eat fairly good..
so why succumb to the medical industry ?

Deeply nested div's are not an improvement.
still need widespread css3 implementation in major browsers; as for layouts, whether table or div, it's an art - often political
  • 2009.05.19 20:08: some people insists on layouts that require ugly html - despite best efforts at education & persuasion
  • 2009.05.19 20:09: @jdhunt you've posted a lot of negative stuff re that project - need to blog a bit to clear your head, maybe

Not arguing against that, it's just that I've been able to produce clean layouts w/out tables or hundreds of div's
sometimes tables are good thing even when not strictly semantic. and i've often been forced into nested divs for x-browser reasons

Well yeah, so have I. It's just that I see too much markup with deeply nested div's everywhere, particularly in this project.
ah, yes - those are the zealots who haven't yet grasped the concept of "reasonable"

Yeah, I've already written a summary of things that are wrong (internally of course). I could tell you more over beers
    pick a place & time
