nah, not that interested, really. also, would have to like dust bunnies in my beer.
  • 2009.05.12 20:28: re paper: this is what happens when your snr shields go down: RT @Wadester23 Quantum-Information Holo Model of Consciousne http://is.gd/zeAu
  • 2009.05.12 20:29: it's like the authors gorged on all the popular science & arxiv websites, then regurgitated
  • 2009.05.12 20:35: submitted sample code to amazon http://tinyurl.com/6sbbvx , some sort of review process - no idea what they want to look at, or how long.
  • 2009.05.12 20:38: surely there's a better way. like attaching it to a forum post. which i did. all very nicely buried. their "free" web services are hush-hush
  • 2009.05.12 21:28: "is market reg a computer science problem? Could we make use of experience designing stable dynamic networks?" - lee smolin http://u.nu/3ad5
  • 2009.05.12 21:28: highly paraphrased, of course, in trying to meet 140 char limit
  • 2009.05.12 21:30: @jdhunt
Ok, that is enough for now. The weather is too nice, and I'm raring to go for a bike ride.
running out of routes yet ?
  • 2009.05.12 21:31: re regulatory / legal language as computer code: occurred to me 20 years ago and more. it often turns out that it already de facto is
  • 2009.05.12 21:33: the last couple/few decades people have been changing the mechanisms of the market without considering that they are changing its nature
  • 2009.05.12 21:34: biggest, most obvious change is that of timing and buffering mechanisms - eliminating delays does not equate to most efficient ...
  • 2009.05.12 21:35: ...instead, there is / may be an optimum (global, local), likely situationally dependent, with respect to buffers - temporal and otherwise
  • 2009.05.12 21:38: also, why is the "problem" seen as located primarily in economics, whereas the root cause is psycho-social ?
  • 2009.05.12 21:39: it is to the advantage of profit-making entities to violate existing "laws" of economy, by creating psycho-social motion in new directions
  • 2009.05.12 21:41: implying that the field of economics will always be lagging and at best historically descriptive, rather than operationally prescriptive
  • 2009.05.12 21:42: hmm - seems that what i'm describing is a type of (artificial?) intelligence, but on a mass scale
  • 2009.05.12 21:42: perhaps the fundamental nature of intelligence is that it breaks rules
  • 2009.05.12 21:43: that would explain much
  • 2009.05.12 21:46: give rise to an interesting perspective on asimov's psycho-history and his "mule" character - he villified the truly independent thinker
  • 2009.05.12 21:47: @craigg75
idea -- TwitterPlus, twitter without the 140 character limit
oh dang - that one will take off immediately - should have kept that private & launched it
  • 2009.05.12 21:47: @craigg75
idea -- TwitterPlus, twitter without the 140 character limit
yet, could already build that on top of current twitter
  • 2009.05.12 21:48: oh yeah - thought: twitter is an auto-clique generator
  • 2009.05.12 21:49: @craigg75
it is not the spoon that bends but it is only yourself
    there is no spoon
  • 2009.05.12 21:50: it will be a very long time before we adequately characterize what we're doing to ourselves, and longer yet until those views are accepted
  • 2009.05.12 22:02: is this what aging's all about ? the beers go down slower, and the days pass faster ?
  • 2009.05.12 22:02: not altogether a bad thing...
  • 2009.05.12 22:33: @SowaJF
looking for Border's coupons to use gift certificate for Leibowitz & Master/Commander
ok, stop - you're turning this into a project ;-) a copy is on its way, should be there by early next week or sooner.
  • 2009.05.12 23:01: now, for some pizza...
  • 2009.05.12 23:08: way too early for ice cream trucks - but there it is - playing a very strange version of "go tell it on the mountain"
  • 2009.05.12 23:09: either that, or the local jehovah's witnesses are innovating
  • 2009.05.13 03:05: @jdhunt
Pet peeve - websites that use images for blocks of text. Makes it harder to copy and paste addresses and the like.
and there are still many "design" firms that manage to sell that crap approach.

running out of routes yet ?
Nah, the routes haven't been particularly interesting, but it has been good to get on the ride.
tried little miami trail yet ? also, mountain bike trails at east fork. kellog is a decent mileage ride - flat.
  • 2009.05.13 03:07: not that i've done muh of that ;-)
  • 2009.05.13 03:07: muh = muCh. cvrap.
