via @fractalnavel: in the last 24 hours:
  • 2009.04.17 04:32: there are ways of addressing all of this, but those are not in the current american cultural repertoire
  • 2009.04.17 04:43: also necessary is dignity - it's appaling what some people pat themselves on the back for when it comes to "charity"
  • 2009.04.17 04:44: "wealth tax" - hmmm...
  • 2009.04.17 18:18: @jdhunt
As I've pondered what insightful, witty comment I could come up with for for my 1000th tweet, I realized I've got nothin'. So, this is it.
why should 1000 be any different from the preceding 999 ? [couldn't resist ;-p thanks for setting that up]
  • 2009.04.17 18:20: @craigg75
the pirate bay guys go to jail - 1 year sentence and multimillion dollar fine
wow - and the somali pirates run free. yep, we've got our global priorities straight all right. (sarcasm friday)

  • 2009.04.17 18:58: about a month of dumping daily twitter logs to blog - eh, it's ok. maybe some new formatting, instead of a timestamped stream...
  • 2009.04.17 19:00: ... i already intepret some things as markup; maybe more - remove timestamps, run it all together, send intentional new paragraph signals...
  • 2009.04.17 19:01: actually not too hard to manage composition of larger posts over time like that - just can't go back & edit parts
  • 2009.04.17 19:02: will see how i feel about this when i'm back from the wedding
  • 2009.04.17 19:03: hmm - assume joined, send intentional paragraphs; or assume paragraphs, send joins... which is more like how i've been doing it already
  • 2009.04.17 19:04: ... use span w/ title attribute to indicate timestamp on joined text...
  • 2009.04.17 19:05: then what should be done with reply trees ? hmm...
  • 2009.04.17 19:06: all xsl, by the way, so the "how" ain't so hard, it's the "what" that's the sticky part
  • 2009.04.17 19:08: @jdhunt
    @fractalnavel
then what should be done with reply trees ? hmm...
So in other words, you are attempting to show tweets as a threaded discussion
have you seen my blog over the last month ? it's already there, in primitive form
  • 2009.04.17 19:08: actually, i'm copying tumblr.com's presentation of replies
  • 2009.04.17 19:13: @jdhunt

I'll have to look more closely. I've tended to dismiss the twitter auto-posts, since I've seen them already.
which entirely makes sense. here's the page i use to test how it's operating: http://blogs.no-ip.org/twtest.aspx. latest last.
  • 2009.04.17 19:14: the other "anomaly" to work out is that threads that build are repeated as the tree grows. not sure what i want to do with that.
  • 2009.04.17 19:16: also - i was thinking, what about replies that i don;t reply to ? those are currently excluded... which i think makes sense
  • 2009.04.17 19:16: anyway - it'a hobby :-p
  • 2009.04.17 19:19: hmm - effectively, i'm working out blogging a command syntax overlayed on twitter posts treated as parital blog posts... rube goldberg !
  • 2009.04.17 19:24: @craigg75
followed some links on using Flash to get anti-aliased fonts in a web page.. interesting cheat
... and one that should not be used... by default, latest browsers are set to do that (i turn it off, not good for a designer)
  • 2009.04.17 19:27: eh, there's a bit of rolling-ness not too far away. but that area is pretty bad.
  • 2009.04.17 19:29: @craigg75
@fractalnavel looking at your trailer park wedding place on google street view.. so flaaaaat there
southeast portion of michigan is like that - y'know, glaciers, lakes...
  • 2009.04.17 19:31: outside of that there's a good bit of rolling. have to get all the way to the western part of the upper peninsula to get more, though
  • 2009.04.17 19:31: but there are some pretty extreme dune-built areas here & there
  • 2009.04.17 19:34: browser text anti-aliasing: still waiting for the mythical CSS3
  • 2009.04.17 19:36: but eh, large font sizes have already defaulted to anti-aliased for quite some time now. the little stuff only tight-asses worry about
  • 2009.04.17 19:41: "programmer" needing oversight: http://tinyurl.com/dkc27n . remember that indian with the tear running down his cheek ? yeah, like that.
  • 2009.04.17 19:49: on that twitter-summarizing: be nice to use more semantic markup. not immediately clear what would apply, though
  • 2009.04.17 19:53: @craigg75
so Waldenwoods is set up for weddings it sounds like
things like that. seems like it's nice enough, just a bit more rustic than was immediately apparent, 90's website notwithstanding
  • 2009.04.17 19:54: @craigg75
@fractalnavel is hung up on semantics ... ppppffffltttt :P
    ok, now you're just looking for hot-buttons ! ;-P
  • 2009.04.17 19:55: @craigg75
wish @fractalnavel owned a decent digital camera
@fractalnavel wishes he did too ;-) my birthday is in june ...
  • 2009.04.17 19:56: but - i'm not in the habit of carrying much of anything, not for years. if it ain't attached, it gets left behind
  • 2009.04.17 19:58: typical payload is a bandana, a credit card, driver's license, a few bucks. that's it. anything else would be for a specific activity
  • 2009.04.17 20:04: @craigg75
72 F here.. the temperature of heaven
the temperature of a padded cell...

  • 2009.04.17 20:06: @craigg75
hey mine is in june too.. do we cancel each other out?
all birthdays cancel - who thought that one up, anyway ?

Don't you need a stick in case of a midget attack?
nah, i'm down there with 'em...
  • 2009.04.17 20:08: @craigg75 @jdhunt re payload: those activities are pretty specific, i'd say. each is, sadly, equally likely as a random event.
  • 2009.04.17 20:10: besides, why would i bring a prophylactic to a midget attack ?
  • 2009.04.17 20:20: isn't that one of life's lessons? : "don't bring a prophylactic to a midget fight"
  • 2009.04.17 20:20: please don't reverse those nouns...
  • 2009.04.17 20:21: @craigg75 how's my semantics today ?
  • 2009.04.17 21:06: just as well that i'm letting tv go: losing scifi friday. terminator & dollhouse to go. well, the rest of tv has already gone.

Whats a TV? I watch those shows & haven't had a tv since 2004. You can do it.
    (1) don't like little screens (2) won't attach large ones (3) "tv" - not the appliance, the habit - this addiction has got to go.
