decided to implement snap.com stuff on this site.  seems to work ok, sometimes.  here's a blurb from them for implementers to show visitors:

Enhanced with Snapshots

"Introducing Snap Shots from Snap.com

"I just installed a nice little tool on this site called Snap Shots that enhances links with visual previews of the destination site, interactive excerpts of Wikipedia articles, MySpace profiles, IMDb profiles and Amazon products, display inline videos, RSS, MP3s, photos, stock charts and more.

"Sometimes Snap Shots bring you the information you need, without your having to leave the site, while other times it lets you "look ahead," before deciding if you want to follow a link or not.

"Should you decide this is not for you, just click the Options icon in the upper right corner of the Snap Shot and opt-out."

yeah, ok - what they said.

not sure why, but it doesn't seem to work for me from here, although it works ok with ff & ie on other machines.  i can see snap.com stuff on other sites here though.  not sure what's up.  let me know if it works for you, if you find it annoying, or if you want me to make it even more annoying - can be configured so that all external links have an icon next to them (pretty ugly).

i noticed that it picked up the links for my books feed on the right.  since i already have little description boxes appearing for those, i was thinking of disabling the snap.com stuff there.  well, there's info both ways, so maybe not.

anyway, i kinda like these things when i see them elsewhere.  i configured it to show charity ads rather than related links or commercial ads.  i may go back to the links thing, but they also show a lot of ads that way.  with all the impressions they get from this thing, i may as well send the $$$ to a worthy cause.
