messing around with the server log. interesting time of day pattern, eh ? and the top few ip ranges are from columbia (i think) (the same operator, in fact - go to
coolwhois.com
and see). now blocked, of course.
the pattern seems to indicate a single operator. how else would the times of day line up so well ? no, really, that's not rhetoric, i'm asking. a single spammer doesn't make sense.
the table accounts for about two thirds of the spam referer hits identified by the current list of blacklisted keywords, etc.
