travels ?  not mine this time:

my brother and a coworker were down this way to fix something in mason, and then were to be on their way to louisville tomorrow.  so we figured they could stay in a hotel in this side of town, get together, etc.  well, the “repairs” didn't take, so they were several hours late getting out of the building.  and there was no one to let them in again, so they couldn't leave for food.  by the time they got out...

well, let's just chalk it up to low blood sugar.  first they head north on 71 instead of south.  i got a call after a while, and fine, they turn around (after 15 miles).  a while later i get another call - they headed the wrong way on the 275 loop, and for various reasons decided to continue in that direction (after 10-18 miles).  by the time they got oriented, they were on the other side of town, at midnight (apparently, some gas station person told them they may as well keep going as it was just as far either way - NOT).  so we all figured it'd be best if they just found anyplace to stay, never mind the visiting.

maybe i'll see them on their way back up.  don't hold your breath ;-)

and i must confess, i was having parts of these discussions on the phone while looking at a map at the holiday inn front desk while i waited for them to show (which never happened of course).  it was fairly entertaining to me and a couple of employees there.  “and where are you now ?” [point at map - everyone laughs]  “which direction are you heading ?” [more pointing, head shaking and laughing].

ah, well, it's fun to kid, but i felt bad for the guys, that's a real bad way to end the day.  but y'know, it's not that hard to figure out.  sigh.  just chalk it up to shits & giggles, i guess.  too bad.  i was kinda looking forward to doing at least one cincinnati thing with them.
